Counselling Services and Rates

In Person:

I provide individual counselling as well as couples and marriage counselling in-person at my office in Surrey. Parking is free and readily available.

Telephone Counselling for Couples:

For your convenience, comfort, and privacy I also provide telephone counselling for couples. This option can benefit those who:

• prefer not to travel but would rather receive marriage counselling in the comfort of their own home
• have young children and find it difficult to get a sitter
• are disabled or have health problems and may find telephone counselling more convenient

Length of Counselling Sessions:

As much as possible, I like to tailor couples’ counselling sessions to meet your unique needs. Most marriage counselling sessions last one hour, however, I can also arrange longer sessions if that is what you prefer. I am flexible in scheduling to meet your needs.

Length of Therapy:

Length of therapy is unique to each person’s needs and circumstances. Most couples have anywhere between 8 and 20 marriage counselling sessions.

You may determine how often you would like to attend counselling sessions depending on your needs, for example, weekly, bi-monthly, or even monthly.

Fees:

Fees may be covered by the client’s Extended Health Plan benefit or by other Third Party coverage (for example through ICBC, employee family assistance plans, or Worksafe B.C., Blue Cross, Great West Life, or Manulife). Clients are advised to apprise themselves of coverage. A 36 hour cancellation notice is required unless in the case of an emergency, otherwise a cancellation fee will apply.

Cost per 60 minute session is $93.75 + H.S.T.

Cost per 90 minute session is $140.63 + H.S.T.

Fees are payable by cash or cheque at the time of each appointment.

Confidentiality:

All counselling sessions and notes are strictly confidential with the following three exceptions, by law:

• if there are child welfare/abuse concerns, confidentiality may be breached
• if there is imminent danger of harm to oneself or another, confidentiality may be breached
• if a court order issued, confidentiality may be breached

All terms of confidentiality will be explained in full to the client before counselling commences.

There is wheelchair access at Kim's office.
